Querceto di Castellina in Tuscany, Italy | Romantic Accommodation

This romantic accommodation recommendation and photos are by Alicia from mileslesstraveled.com

At a glance: When my husband and I were planning a trip to Tuscany, we wanted to set aside a few nights to have a romantic stay on a vineyard. There is no shortage of options for these, but the price fluctuates enormously. We opted for the mid range accommodation, Querceto di Castellina, that ended up giving us all the luxury we needed. Tucked into the rolling hills of the Chianti region, Querceto di Castellina checked off all the boxes for the picturesque image of a Tuscan vineyard that we had set in our minds. With a small and super friendly staff on hand to manage the 9 apartments and one suite on the grounds. It’s family owned, and beautifully maintained, giving it a charming bed and breakfast feel with a luxurious twist.

Highlights of this romantic accommodation include:

♥ It is small and removed, set in the country, giving it a totally secluded feel that makes you want to cozy up with your partner after a not-so- hard day sipping the local chianti.

♥ The apartments are totally self sufficient and include a full kitchen, meaning you never have to leave your room if you don’t want to.

♥ The sunsets over hills of grape vines! Need I say more?

♥ Aside from sampling their delicious wines during a complimentary tasting and taking leisurely strolls through the vines, there is also a saltwater pool, a ping pong table, and a BBQ/picnic area to liven things up a bit. Being an agritourismo instead of a hotel, there is the added benefit that staying here is supporting a local farm, one that has been in the family since 1945. If peace and quiet with the person you love and gorgeous Tuscan sunset views are what you’re after, look no further than the Querceto di Castellina. Tips to have the best possible stay at Querceto di Castellina: ♥ Book ahead! There are very few rooms available. ♥ Plan according to season. We went in February which was lovely due to how quiet it was giving us lovely quality alone time, but if you prefer activities or want to sample the wines at other vineyards, the region is pretty closed up in the winter. ♥ The property is set outside of town. If you do not want to eat at the onsite restaurants, top up on goods at the local farmers market at Greve in Chianti to use in your room. ♥ Nearby towns have really tasty, small, and authentic Tuscan restaurants. Budget: $$ ($ = budget $$ = Medium $$$ = Luxury) Address: Via di Fronzano, 9, 53011 Castellina in Chianti SI Click on the button below to for more information on this romantic accommodation in Tuscany, Italy.
